Janelle Monáe delivers the "Electric Lady" video.
The leader of the Androids heads back to college as a member of a sorority called the Electro Phi Betas. The ladies throw a party at their sorority house, doing the electric slide with some co-eds and even bringing out a marching band. Look for cameos from T.I., T-Boz, Estelle, Esperanza Spalding, Monica, Kimbra, and even Janelle’s mother.
Janelle recently honored First Lady Michelle Obama as the “First Electric Lady.” “First of all, I am honored to be the First Electric Lady. I love that she is one of the young artists here who is making music that means something. She has a message. She has a voice. She has a power in her. Janelle has always stayed true to her music and has always been herself. Thank you Janelle.
