2015 Emmy's

...
The Emmy's give us all our favorite TV stars out of their scrubs, orange jumpsuits and stuffy suits, and wearing their best red carpet finery. And this year, the red carpet was on fire with stars like Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Uzo Aduba and so many more. Taraji wowed in a cut-out Alexander Wang dress with chain detailing, Laverne Cox glowed like magic. The night was magical because Regina King won her first Emmy award Sunday evening for her role as Aliyah Shaheed in American Crime. This was also her first EMMY nomination. Viola Davis took home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series, becoming the first Black woman to win the category. It was an inspiring night and above are some of my favorite looks of the night.

"The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity," Davis said in her acceptance speech, quoting Harriet Tubman. "You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there. So here's to all the writers, the awesome people...people who have redefined what it means to be beautiful, to be sexy, to be a leading woman, to be Black. And to the Taraji P. Hensons, the Kerry Washingtons...Thank you for taking us over that line."
