AFROPUNK has evolved into a touchstone of a cultural movement strongly reminiscent of the early days of Hip-Hop. Alternative urban kids across the across the globe who felt like outsiders discovered they were actually the core of a boldly innovative, fast-growing community.
To crop tops, bra tops, and off-the-shoulder tops — but they played them up with killer accessories, statement outerwear, and other eclectic add-ons, creating a medley of outfits that deserve a double (or triple) take. Every year I look forward to the festival to see what amazing artists, creators, models, bloggers are going to deliver. It's about the culture and how it is evolving everyday. As much as Afropunk is a music festival, many showgoers came to be a part of a creative community that encourages self-expression.
